Planning : Preliminary Task First Ideas

The task we were set was to write down our thoughts and ideas onto an A3 piece of paper. Our preliminary task is to film a short clip using different camera angles. Then we have the two people sitting down in a class, then they say a knock knock joke to each other. 

This uses different shots such as the establishing shot as the actor is walking towards the school. Then there will be a P.O.V, mid shot, match on action and a shot/reverse shot as well.

We will probably add more to this as we think of more ideas as these are our first notes.

We are using the tracking shot as one of our camera movements as well.

In this task I had to find out what the more complex terminology was for media. We had to find out what a continuity task was, match on action shot,shot/reverse shot and 180-degree rule. These are all shown in the powerpoint above.

Preliminary Task Introduction

Continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule.

Media Specific Terminology

Filming is using a camera to capture a moving image.

Editing is cutting and putting back together of a film that was previously filmed.

Character is an actor in a fictional character which performs on the screen.

Dialogue is the lines that are transferred in speech between two or more characters.

Me as a Media Consumer

As a young adult i use nearly all of the types of communication with the rest of the world.

The internet is what i use the most. The internet has everything on it anyway. If you wanted to read about the sport then you can easily go onto a sports website.I use the internet mostly for watching videos on youtube. I also watch TV online by streaming it. I use BBC IPlayer and ITV Player. These are the websites i mostly use on the internet.

I also use Music a lot. I listen to music nearly everyday. I use my PC to do this. I use windows media player to be able to play and listen to my music. I find this to be the best program to listen to my music on. My favorite song:




                                     
I also watch a lot of films on my PC such as:

and other films just like this.

The only thing i never really buy or read are newspapers and magazines. These types of media bore me and i have never really been interested in these at all. I also watch TV less now due to the online sites linked above.
